Epic Cities Hyperlapse - Planet Earth II
For the Cities episode of Planet Earth II the BBC collaborated with Rob Whitworth to bring a new perspective to the urban world. The hyperlapses condense space and time to give a feeling of just how busy cities can be. Then by using transitions between shots, rather than the conventional cut in the edit, it created a continuous, seemingly impossible, journey through the urban environment.Rob created multiple sequences throughout the episode including the title sequence and an exploration of light through the worlds brightest city, Hong Kong.It is undoubtedly the greatest TV nature documentary to date and there's a strong case for it being one of the best TV series full stop.
